Therapy

Long and short term

Trained Integrative Therapist

With a focus on building the therapeutic relationship allowing for empathy, compassion and working to connect to the heartfelt self, as a way of connecting to the wider world is my belief the foundation to a healthy sense of self. I create a safe place to explore desires, needs and the fears that may lie beneath.

As a trained yoga instructor I use my intuition and therapeutic training, to work with all clients as individuals. Holding a wealth of experience working in bereavement underpinned by specialist training. I speak English and conversational Spanish, and I have worked for an International Mental Health Charity, as well as with young people.

BACP logo

I am a Registered Member of the BACP and offer both short and long-term counselling to adults and young people. My work is bound by the BACP’s Ethical Framework. I am also a fully trained Yoga teacher, working with the power of the mind, body and breath to heal and ground my clients as part of the therapeutic encounter.

My experience as a counsellor includes a role in an inner London FE College with young people from the age of 15. My training, awareness and sensitivity around issues of diversity; including background, ethnicity, disability, culture and social deprivation enables a deeper insight and emotional connection to clients.

I have also worked for national charity Mind and as a specialised bereavement counsellor. Losing someone close, or the loss of a job or identity, leave a huge void and activate other unmourned losses, making the grief harder to process. It may also impact the family.

We can work together to make sense of often overwhelming emotions and day-to-day difficulties and look at what is stopping you living your life.

While working in Mind as a fully trained Therapist, I worked with issues such as divorce, family issues, life’s transitions and Loss and grief among others.

How it works

My counselling approach is integrative, this means that I integrate different psychotherapeutic approaches according to what you may need. I will help to look to the root of the issue to understand how to bring about lasting change and inner progression, in order to create a healthier more adaptive outlook conducive to change.

Caring approach

I offer a safe, non-judgemental space and have a caring, open approach in the hope of creating a space for you to explore and unravel your narrative creating a relationship of trust. This is to enable you to look at your struggles and, working together bring about positive change.

Guidance

I endeavour to help you to find the tools and guide you through inner change by looking at patterns that may have been set in childhood, to bring an understanding to how you may be feeling. This will have an impact on how you approach and look at your own issues in the future.
